Replacing a 60 with a 60C

Hello everyone. I' m replacing a clients FG60 with a new FG60C. Is there an easy way to migrate the FG60 config to the FG60C? Previously I have carried out the following steps: Upgrade the FG60 to the latest 3.0 firmware. Copy this config to a FG60B running the same 3.0 firmware. Upgrade the FG60B to a version of 4.0 supported by the FG60C (this may mean upgrading through several MR versions of 4.0) Backup the FG60B config, modify the header with the header from a FG60C config. Restore this config to the FG60C. I wondered if there was an easier way? Cheers, Paul

I' ve not found an easier way but have found a way As you will know the interfaces will be different between 60 and 60C so I open a copy of the config in notepad and find and replace the relevant interface changes. now not all will be able to code over so I tend to copy and past directly to the command line through SSH using something like puddy or in my case secureCRT. Once you past the entry in you will notice what set commands work and what doesn' t and that is the hard way I learnt to do it.. now after years of trial you know the differences but first upgrade the 60 to v4.0 hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. I' m not sure that would work though. Some of the cli commands have changed between versions so the configuration would not be correct. Changing the interfaces does work, I' ve done that before.

Hey Paul... We' re using the same process that you are. FGT60 --> FGT60B --> FGT60C. Have you had any issues with the FGT60C? We' re having a lot of issues with the new hardware and was wondering if anyone else was experiencing issues. Bradley

Hi Bradley. The FG60C units we have deployed have been solid so far. They seem to perform better than the 80C units we were using until the 60C was available. I' ve not used the reporting features yet. The biggest pain is migrating from older units. What kind of problems have you been having?

wasn' t there for a short period of time a MR4 Release for the FGT60 available? If it is so, maybe this would help you out!

Hi All, We also has a FG60 and wanna to replace with a higher model like FG200 series, but does there really no anyway to migrate the configure of FG60 to a higher model? Also, does anyone know that... the FG60 really don' t have the ver 4? (I can' t found it for FG60, but would like to confirm...) Indeed, we are going to configure the ipad to communicate with the FG60, if there is no ver 4 for FG60, that means the FG60 cannot communicate with ipad / iphone, right? Thanks!
