Remote access VPN - L2tp over Ipsec

Dear All,

 

I am new with FortiGate firewall and in my organization I have to deploy remote access vpn with using L2tp over IPsec. anyone of you have ever implemented this type of vpn.

 

let me know  any kind of notes  that will be more helpful for me .

 

Also, I have gone through fortigate offical websites - Fortigate KB but things could not get more clear.

What does specifically phase one do and vice versa.

I am not sure what info you are looking at by 'phase one and  vice versa' and vice versa for?

If you are trying to use native IPsec for Windows in my personal experience I would suggest IKEv2. Microsoft implementation for IKEv2 looks better made and it's more stable
