ORIGINAL: jmac FortiWiFi models running firmware 4.2.x can only support the internal wireless, but firmware 4.3.x allows for wireless controller management of FortiAP hardware in conjunction with the internal wireless AP.What' s the check box for that says " Enable Wireless Controller" for then? Look under " System > Admin > Setting" on 4.2.11. I don' t use FortiAP, so it makes no difference to me. Just a curiosity thing.

Most FortiGate units, but not FortiWiFi models, can act as a wireless network controller, managing the wireless Access Point (AP) functionality of FortiWiFi units.I have always used the special " wireles controller" build for FortiOS 4.2 on non-WiFi units to support current FortiAP hardware. There is no special " wireless controller" build for the FortiGate-60C, but then again the 60C is a special build on its own. I have never tested FortiAPs with a FortiGate-60C running 4.2.
