Question on FS-224D-FPOE

Picked up a FS-224D-FPOE and had a few questions as I'm more familar with the Dell switches than the Fortinet. The unit is running the most current firmware and I have the mgmt IP as 192.1681.99 and the internal set to 172.16.0.168/255.255.248.0 with acess as https; ping. If I plug into any of the ports I cannot ping the internal 172 address but the mgmt port for 192 responds. I know on my dell units I can assign a static address and ping the switch when plugging into any of the non management ports. How can I configure the fortinet to respond to a ping when plugged into one of the 24 ports. The switch does work though its passing traffic but I cannot connect to manage it unluss directly connected to management port.
