Hello,
We are willing to buy a 400E antispam, and i find that it includes an option called: Server Mode Mailboxes, with a number 400.
I would like to know, what does this mean?
And if it is a blocking option, if my mail server contains more than that number or not?
Thank you in advance,
Regards

Hi, such number should be taken literally.
400 server mailboxes is a hardcoded limit for the number of users locally authenticated in your fortimail.
If you use external authentication (as LDAP, Radius, etc), in 5.x firmware version, you could manage more users than such hardcoded limit. I have not tested yet this limits in server mode under 6.2.x firmwares.
In your shoes, if such limit concerns you , I'll test it with a demo VM or ask your local SE for it.
regards
/ Abel
Means the FortiMail device supports up to 400 mailboxes/configured users
