Question about FortiGate remote access VPN quality?

I saw someone mention in the networking subject that Fortinet is bad for Remote Access VPN. Is this true? Are there any caveats with certain hardware models and the VPN client connectivity for users?

IPSec VPN is a stanards-based protocol. Fortinet is no different than any other vendor when it comes to IPSec connectivity. With IPSec you can use any client software you want.

For SSL-VPN it's a bit more proprietary but ultimately is still using standards-based protocols (TLS). The client for SSL-VPN has to be FortiClient. The free version is pretty limited but it works very well. It's pretty basic functionality in the end...
