Public IP direct on interface (FortigateVM in Azure)

Hello, does anybody know if there is a possibility to assign the public IP address directly to an interface on the FortigateVM without a "private IP FrontEnd subnet". The public IP is mapped to a private IP. I would like to have the public IP direct on an interface.
