Problems with Local Categories

I recently upgraded my 200B from 4.2.12 to 4.3.14 using the recommended upgrade path from 4.2.12 --> 4.2.15 --> 4.3.10 --> 4.3.14. I have about 13 different custom categories. While all the categories came over properly, the action (Allow, Pass, Deny) did not come over. When I try to assign a custom category as " Allow" or " Monitor" , I get the following error message when I try to apply it to a Web Filter profile: " Invalid FortiGuard category. Cannot have the same FortiGuard category in multiple filters." It doesn' t quite make sense to me that I can' t have the same custom category selected in multiple web filters, so I think the error message is incorrect. Any suggestions on how to debug this one? This was working fine in 4.2.12 before I upgraded. Thanks.

Not at work to confirm this but I thought the direct recommended path to 4.3.14 is >=4.3.11. Regarding your issue, I am guessing you may have a label(s) with an invalid char code and/or space char. I make it a habit of performing " debug config-error-log read" after each firmware upgrade to see if there are any errors or changes to the config. As well, I may go as far as putting the " before" and " after" configs through a text comparison tool.

Dave, Thanks for the tip! It sent me on the right trail. The " debug config-error-log read" command gave me an error message that led me to this document which then described my problem exactly: http://kb.fortinet.com/kb/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=FD33920 I have to delete some defunct categories. I also have to rename a few profiles that have spaces, but that was relatively easy to find.
