Port forwarding 80 to 443 VIP

Hi Current situation: External http://remote.domain.com Port 80 -> internal Webserver A Port 80 External https://remote.domain.com Port 443 -> internal Webserver B Port 443 Now I just want to use the Webserver A with his SSL interface on port 443 instead of the 80 and redirect just the http traffic from port 80 to the Webserver A Port 443 but everything I tried wasn' t successful. Isn' t it possible to redirect http traffic from port 80 to https port 443 just with a VIP? Thx Wayne

Not with a VIP but you could use a load balancing rule.

Why couldn' t you use a VIP to make a port translation?? Of course this will work. But...I guess it won' t suffice to redirect HTTP traffic from one standard port to another in order to change the protocol. That' s why the VIP " didn' t work" - it did, but the traffic was not recognized properly. And load balancing won' t do that either. You need a proxy for that. The SSL deep inspection feature will set up a HTTPS-to-HTTP proxy, that' s the closest I can think of.
