Good morning friends.
In the Fortigate firewall I see that the log and report "summary" option is blocked.
According to the knowledge base https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Troubleshooting-Tip-System-Event-Summary-is-disabled/ta-..., this is resolved by enabling some options from Logging and Reporting -> Logging Settings. However, when I accessed that option, I did not find the "Enable fortiview history" option.
My question is, to enable this option, do I need to have a FAZ license? or fortigate cloud?
Hi unknown1020
Have you tried to enable the fortiview history via CLI?
These are the commands:
config report setting
set fortiview enable
end

Hello, when I try to execute through the CLI, I have this error:
# config report setting
command parse error before 'report'
Command failed. Return code 1
Which firmware version are you using?
my fortigate has version 7.2.7
Could you check on Log Settings >> Local Logs ?
Hello, this is how that option is displayed in the FG
Hi @unknown1020,
I believe FortiView only available if FortiGate has disk for storing logs.
Regards,
Hello, how can I validate that? because there are other devices with version 7.4.3 (it does not have a faz) and the "summary" option is not blocked
Based on the screenshot of Log Settings, disk logging is not available on your FortiGate. It is a hardware limitation. Some models don't have disk logging.
