Hi,
I have a fortigate 30D functioning in hardware switch mode with firmware 5.2.4.
Today I connected an 221B access point and want to configure that in local bridge mode as I want both wired and wireless clients to be on the same subnet.
I don't seem to find that option, in the SSID field the traffic mode is disabled, it just shows 'tunnel to wireless controller' without giving me the option to switch to bridge mode. (see screen shot enclosed)
Any ideas (I am a fortinet newbie and just starting my first steps in networking/firewalls).
tks,
Kris.
EDIT... posted to wrong thread
Correct
Create a new Wifi Interface (and SSID) in bridge mode
This will cause a short outage:
Delete the old one (or at least rename the SSID if you want to keep the setup as a backup system)
Rename the newly created SSID to the old SSID name
Your clients won't even know the difference
Hi gschmitt,
Tks for your reply. I am not within reach of the fortigate - fortiap for a week. I will revert to you when I have tried your solution.
Tks !
Kris.
Hi Gchmidt,
Tried your solution and it works, tsk for your help.
Kris.
