I'm now on day 2 trying to fix this. This is just such a waste of my time; I'm going to have to scrap the VMs and start again soon. This is what seems to be required every time I need to renew the licence on these. am I hitting a BUG ?
Multi VDOM setup in a lab, the LAB has its own NAT and firewall to access the internet.
Any out rule.
I'm Assuming the VM is using the "root" VDOM for the licencing.

Starting to loathe the product, other vendors make this so much easier.

Try to run
diag debug app update -1
diag debug enable
Have you checked the network settings and firewall policies on your FortiGate device? Ensure that the necessary ports for licensing are open and that the device has proper internet access. It might also be worth verifying your DNS settings and ensuring there are no IP blocklists in place. If you're still having trouble, try contacting Fortinet support for further assistance.
