New Fortigate - 60D

They have released a new FortiGate 60D, Does anyone know how much RAM it has ?

this feature is only via FortiCloud wich is not accepteble for this customer in case of security and Goverment Rules in Germany

That' s an important point that applies for very many outside of north america, i hope fortinet has plans in the pipeline to distribute forticloud to regions if not some of the larger countries as Forticloud is getting better and better.

I heard that 60D will have a hardware revision where the internal disk will be removed.... So, i think that it will not return on actual hardware and new patchs... Regards, Paulo Raponi

That' s mean the 60D will not get internal disk anymore even the new 5.0.3 will be activated again?

Based on what I have heard from some inside Fortinet people. I believe this to be true. I bet and hope I' m wrong but all devices below a 80C will have the HD removed in time. The new 90D which I believe replaces the 80C will be the new starting device with a HD. I' m just as frustrated as " Selective" right now.

I see all the Hype of Fortinet Getting Awards for IPS/Etc NSS Labs, SC Magazine, but seem' s to be for the " Higher" end models. Seems like 200B and Below we are getting shafted eh? We ar a Reseller for Fortinet, and we only deal with the SMB market, 200B and Lower, but checking out the forums, seems like Fortinet is turning the worst on there SMB Product Line. Seeing the complaints. I mean I like the product we have beening selling it for 2 years, I just hate to see negative feedback on a " edge" device that protects networks. Comments?

Maybe it' s time to do a " fork" of FortiOS. One for SMB and antother for > Enterprises. Small box don' t have CPU & memory to work with disk I/O. This is the problem.... Regards, Paulo Raponi

I think its their ARM architecture that doesn´t handle the disk so well. The decision to use ARM instead of a proper CPU must have been catastrophic. Im sure it was a cheaper solution at the beginning, but taking into account all problems they had, it must have been worst decision ever...
