Hello!
I just purchased a FortiGate 60F. As a network engineer I'm most used Cisco and MikroTik- this is my first Fortinet router.
I pulled it out of the box, plugged in Power and WAN1, and verified the unit has power and is operational. I have also registered the router in my Fortinet portal.
My laptop is connected directly to to Port 1 and is being assigned DHCP IP's of 192.168.1.110 and a default gateway of 192.168.1.99. However, all attempts to open http://192.168.1.99 or https://192.168.1.99 via Chrome, Edge and Firefox time out.
Nothing else is connected to my laptop, and I have also tried using a desktop, with the same results. What's my next best step?
Thanks so much!!
~James

Use a console connection.
OR Factory Reset the Fortigate using the reset button.
Hi James
Try access the IP .99 with ssh (putty) or connect to console port with a serial cable.
Can you ping 192.168.1.99 from the same laptop?
Toshi
Hi @JamesTuttle,
Are you able to ping 192.168.1.99? Are you able to SSH? If none of them works, you can factory reset by following this article: https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-How-To-Reset-To-Factory-Default-Configurat...
