New 60E - no fortiexplorer port.

Curious if this was a design oversight or they are degrading/discontinuing the fortiexplorer.  Disappointing, as it made configs/migrations very easy..

Give them some feedback. The original 60D shipped without an RJ45 console port. Later versions had a consoled added to the front.

Do may people use FortiExplorer? It's good for quick setups from an iPad but I'm usually sat at my PC when I set them up via a spare NIC. Not much help when diagnosing hardware faults.

What's your experience of it?

I was also disappointed that the 60E that we purchased for a branch office didn't have the usb port.

I have pretty much stuck to using a USB to serial converter in order to use the built in console ports. FortiExplorer COM access has been spotty for me since the beginning and I got tired of messing with it.

Really stupid to not include support for USB MGMT on the 30E/50E/60E models. I really don´t know what Fortinet was thinking here...

I used it almost exclusively.  it too handy of a tool not to use, just plug in and go from my laptop.  No fiddling with ethernet or IP ranges. toggling http/https access on or off through the command line, etc.  I've never used it from an iPad so I cannot speak to the ease of use, but I am already missing it.  I will be trying one of these.

Does FortiExplorer work when using a Serial to USB converter? Or, can anyone confirm that USB A to USB A will work with FortiExplorer?

Fortinet, the USB to Micro USB was plug and play with FortiExplorer. You provided a cable in the box. Now, you provide RJ45 to Serial and I have to provide Serial to USB. -1 on that change...

Hi, neither console nor usb port on FGT60E can be used for connecting via FortiExplorer.
