Hi team,
Anyone here have the experiance on integrating nagios core with fortigate firewall. I try using fortinet plugin in nagios community website but it seems like my model is not yet supported by the script. I try using the MIB file to locate OID for the hardware but I only found trap OID only (FORTIGATE-CORE-MIB). If there is any suggestion and advice on this issue please let me know. Thanks in advance.

As described in the guide here, not all FGT devices will include chassis temperature sensors and fan details.
You can run this command to check if your FGT does have this sensors in the first place:
# execute sensor list
23 PS1 Temp alarm=0 value=40 threshold_status=0
24 PS1 Fan 1 alarm=0 value=6528 threshold_status=0
25 PS1 Fan 2 alarm=0 value=10112 threshold_status=0
The sensor are counted in this OID: .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.3.1.0
and should be listed under: .1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.3.2
Hi @Opahla,
What kind of script are you referring to? Have you configured SNMP on the FortiGate? https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-How-to-Configure-FortiGate-SNMP-Agent-for/...
If yes, you can run snmp debug: https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-How-to-troubleshoot-on-FortiGate-when-SNMP...
Regard,
Hi hbac,
I already enable the snmp and able to do the snmpwalk. I use a script in the nagios core community to monitor fortigate firewall and it is working. I also leave the link here for anyone to refer:
https://exchange.nagios.org/directory/Plugins/Hardware/Network-Gear/Fortinet/Check-Fortigate-Status/...
And as for now, I can't find the OID for Thermal Sensor/temperature and Fan for my Fortigate 100F firewall. I already done snmpwalk into the firewall but I can't seem to locate it. Using the MIB file that is provided only list me the trap OID only. I would really appreciate it if you guys can provide the OID. Thanks for replying btw and thanks in advance for any solution or suggestion.

Hi,
You may found some useful OIDs at the bottom of this article:
https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-How-to-configure-SNMP-v3-on-HA-cluster-of/...
The sensor OIDs table and alarms are:
.1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.3.2.1.1 = Hardware sensors table.
.1.3.6.1.4.1.12356.101.4.3.2.1.4 = Hardware sensors alarm ('true' means there is an alarm).
I found it. Thanks team.
