Monitoring BGP neighbors with Observium

Has anyone had success monitoring BGP neighbors on a Fortigate in Observium?  It's supposedly possible, but I haven't quite figured it out.

It doesn't seem supported/tested by observium , looking here at https://docs.observium.org/supported_devices/#fortinet-fortigate

As it turns out, it's possible by tacking '-root' on to the end of the community string.  I tried that out and Observium is now monitoring my BGP neighbors.
