I am using the Microsoft Store Forticlient VPN client and it works really well most of the time, occasionally it stops connecting and reports the following error "operation timedout"
The only option I have is to reboot the computer and then it starts working again, it seems to be using version 1.0.1 and hasn't been updated since 2017-03-08
Has anyone found a workaround for this apart from using the full Forticlient install?
Thanks
Based on the screen shots at Microsoft Store, the client software you're using seem to be the same as "FortiClient App for Windows" for Windows 10 and Windows Phone 10 available at https://www.forticlient.com/downloads.
A problem with that app is it doesn't provide local logging or modifying config with an XML file. Some of our employees are using it on their Win10 machines for our corporate SSL VPN, but so far I heard no complaints. Only thing I can suggest is uninstalling it then reinstall&configure again. But try downloading from FortiClient download site, although I'm almost sure those are exactly the same.
I would recommending changing to a sand-alone application "FortiClient 5.6 for Windows", which gives you more visibility for what might be going on. I think you can install both on the same win10 machine.
