Hello Community.
I have been using FortiClient since MacOS Catalina, until then everything was perfect, then from BigSur, everything was wrong. It does not work or simply the solutions that exist in the forums do not work or are incomplete..
I am currently running MacOS Monterey 12.4 and FortiClient 7.0.5.0166. I have this error when establishing the remote connection via VPN "Login failed. Insufficient credential(s). Please check the password, client certificate, etc."
Searching in Internet and this forum itself there are "solutions" of this type:
I have applied both and it doesn't work.
The strangest thing about this behavior is that no matter what values you can use, for example, in the username and password, it always delivers the same message already indicated. What apparently is an ERROR of the product that simply does not go out to validate the connection to the Firewall that must validate the access.
Cheers,

I have finally managed to overcome the reported problem. There are two versions of Fortinet Client, one with the ZeroTrush option (it's paid, I think!!), this is the one that doesn't work for me in my configuration.
I downloaded the other option, which is apparently lighter, since it has fewer configuration options, operating the connection correctly.
The version is the same (identical) 7.0.5.0166: https://links.fortinet.com/forticlient/mac/vpnagent
Hello Freddy,
I do not know MACOS well enough, but from searching myself, I found a few having issues after upgrade or "special instruction" if on Monterey. Not exactly fitting I believe, but give it a go

A german one

It sounds to me a bit like a potential uninstall, remove of config, set up and giving the components the respective permissions, would help. I hope that assumption is correct :)
Best regards,
Markus
