MGMT1/MGMT2 no traffic or down on FG1801F

Hi Community,

We received a new FG1801F firewall for activation and encountered issues with the MGMT1 & MGMT2 Port down.

- We tried to add admin & trusted host IP address but still not working

- Only access to configure is via Putty

- When we plug in on the RJ45 Ports got traffic.

Please advise as only the MGMT1/MGMT2 Ports are down. We cannot connect HTTPS & ping the default MGMT1 /MGMT2 IP 192.168.1.99 & 192.168.2.99 from our laptop

Hi @Lapu_Lapu

I think you should connect a console cable to the device and then check the status of the management interface using the commands below. Please share the output here so we can assist you further.

If the logs are too long to paste in the forum, you can share them with me via email at bhoang@fortinet.com.

Run these commands multiple times:

diag hardware deviceinfo nic mgmt1
diag hardware deviceinfo nic mgmt2
diagnose npu np7 phy-status
diagnose npu np7 dce-drop-all all
diagnose npu np7 cgmac-stats all
diagnose npu np7 hif-stats all
diagnose npu np7 dsw-drop-all
diagnose npu np7 pba all
diagnose npu np7 pdq all
diagnose npu np7 hpe all
diagnose npu np7 pmon all

Regards

Bill

We have tried the FG1801F Ports 1-16, these ports works and no issue using RJ45 - temporarily made the https access to configure. But on the FG1801F MGMT1/MGMT2 the ports don't go up even if enabled. If this device is the direct replacement for FG1500D then there is an issue in the future if you are using the MGMT Ports and the device is using default config from factory version 7.4.8.
