Lost logs
Umm, what the hell is the problem with this FortiLog device thingy. I just restarted it because the memory useage had reached 70%. Well, now all of my logs are gone and deleted. I had about 2 months worth of data (since first use). Why would the unit just delete the logs after a restart? Is this not insane or what? What if you had to reboot because of some other reason? What then? Fortinet is definetly going to hear about this one...

Unfortunately, I' m not a Linux guy, nor do I intend to even try. I' m just not interested. However, if the FortiLog device is suppsed to be used to store logs from the FortiGate, then why hell would it just delete all my logs upon a reboot? Also, ever since I rebooted it, it has not captured anymore logs from the firewall. Yes, I have ' re-registered' it with the FortiLog, but still no log files as of almost a day back online from the reboot. What now? Do I need to contact Fortinet? Not that they can get them back for me, but come on...

That' s why this tech forum should be world-wide known, so that people can discover what' s wrong with a device before buying it.
And of course Fortinet' s support must be aware you had that problem, to know what caused the problem, or to confirm that one more time their product are not well tested enough upon release..
