Hi,
I've a problem of loss of the liceense in my FortiAnalyzer. I've set a proxy and it's used to login the the cloud account. The FortiAnalyzer reboots and everything seems to be OK. But a few minutes / hours later, I get this alert message:
License validation state changes from Trial License Init to Found disconnecting because of Server No ResponseI checked the proxy log and there is no entry of any kind of access. If I check the firewall logs, I can see that the FortiAnalyzer tries to communicate directly with some servers in the internet - I guess some license servers!?
Afterwards I get a "duplicate license" error (but there is only one license in my account) and instead of the analyzer login a could login dialog is shown. I can login with my cloud account, the analyzer reboots, everyhting seems to be fine... for at least some hours.
So, has anyone an idea, why the proxy isn't used to contact the license servers for validation?
Regards,
Dennis

Your FortiAnalyzer isn't consistently using the proxy for license validation — it's trying to connect directly to the internet instead. This causes failed validation, "duplicate license" errors, and forced cloud logins. Likely causes: proxy settings aren't applied globally (only for some services) or FortiAnalyzer can't reach certain FortiGuard servers via the proxy.
Fix:
Ensure proxy settings are correctly configured for all FortiAnalyzer services (not just cloud login).
Whitelist FortiGuard domains on your proxy/firewall.
Check FortiAnalyzer firmware; upgrade if there's a known proxy handling bug.
Yesterday I was upgrading a user's Office to 2013 from 2007. I noticed they weren't using their docking station and they said it hasn't worked for awhile, I told them I'll stop by later when they're at their meeting so I can get it working again https://mobdro.bio/ .
It seems like FortiAnalyzer isn’t properly sending its license validation traffic through the proxy. This often happens when the proxy settings are misconfigured or not being picked up correctly by the device. It’s worth double-checking that the proxy details are set correctly on the FortiAnalyzer itself and also match what’s configured in the cloud account. You should also make sure there aren’t any firewall rules or network restrictions blocking access to Fortinet’s license servers. If everything looks fine and the problem continues, reaching out to Fortinet support would be the best next step for deeper troubleshooting.
