Lose outside internet access when connecting VPN Client
I am looking for some help getting my FortiNet client set up properly, when I am at home or connected via my phone I can access our AWS environment and the internet in general. I am working remotely this week, from a hotel, and when I connect I lose all other internet connectivity, I can still SSH into my servers within AWS but all web traffic stops, http, slack, etc.... Any ideas on how I can fix this? It's very frustrating having to connect and disconnect while troubleshooting things and needing to look them up, then switch back to the VPN and reconnect the SSH sessions.
I am using FortiClient 5.4.2.523 on OS and SSL VPN
Thanks.

Welcome to the forums.
What you are looking for is called 'Split Tunneling'. This needs to be configured on your home Fortigate. The setup is slightly different than the usual setup, but it's not that complicated. Look for that term in the cookbook.
You basically have to tell the remote SSL VPN client which traffic goes to your home unit and all the rest stays local (on the laptop) and goes directly out to the Internet. As you more than likely have it set up now, all traffic is directed down the tunnel and you don't have any policies from your home to permit the SSL traffic outward.
