I have found some tips at forinet community site advising to change settings to roll logs differenty. E.g.
Technical Tip: How to export rolled log files in readable format from FortiAnalyzer
I plan to make that change, but I fear unexpected effects.
Has enyone experienced unexpected effects after switching from native to txt format?

Hey joh2k,
exporting the log files in any format (native/text/csv) has no impact on the logs being rolled on FortiAuthenticator and stored locally.
Log forwarding should not have any impact in my experience either; the native format is an lz4 compression if I remember correctly, and that compression simply has to be reversed.
