Hi, One of our laptop keeps connecting on 2.4ghz.
We have set 5ghz as preferred band but still it is connecting to that band only.
Laptop model - Thinpad E14
Wfi adapter - Realtek 8822CE
Last driver update - 01-Apr-2024.
AP - 431F v7.4.3
Regards,
Ganesh

Alright, so forgetting the network and reconnecting appeared to allow the laptop to remember it can do faster 5GHz AC. But the variability of it still makes me wish for a push button feature to force a specific device to 5 if it's not listening to band steering.
Try to upgrade the NIC's firmware first.
Next, double check the WiFi's Advanced settings and set the "Property" to the desired "Value".
1. Click Start>Run and open devmgmt.msc
2. Collapsed Network Adapters, right click the Wi-Fi, and click Advanced.
If needed, you can try to forget the network, restart the device, and connect to the desired SSID.
