LDAP - Use Logon Name Instead of Display Name

I have LDAP working however it appears the user is required to use their full name for their credentials in the FortiClient instead of their logon name which they are accustom too. How can I configure LDAP to accept the Windows logon name? So in review. User currently is required to logon with their full name, E.G. John Doe. We would prefer the user to logon with jdoe which is their windows user logon name. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Regards, Jason

Under common Name Identifier try using sAMAccountName instead of cn
