Hi everyone, I need some advice regarding my FortiGate 50E.
I recently purchased a FortiGate 50E device, and it seems it was previously registered using someone else's email address. I’ve already bought a new license for this device under my own account, but now I’m unable to claim ownership or re-register it because it’s still tied to the old email.
I contacted the local partner for support, but they mentioned that they need a PO document from the company that originally registered it — which I don’t have.
Just wondering:
If I perform a factory reset on the FortiGate, will that allow me to change the registered email or re-claim ownership under my account?
Any suggestions or experiences would be appreciated. Thank you!
We recently had a quite similar conversation.

The bottom line is you need to contact the CS team to let it released by the previous owner.

By the way the 50E's EOS(End of Support) date is 2027-03-31. Less than 2 years to go. You provably already knew it though.
