Issues with Forticlient on my gaming desktop

Hello everyone,

I'm having some issues with Forticlient on my gaming desktop [https://www.lenovo.com/ca/en/d/gaming-desktops/]. Whenever I try to connect to the VPN, I get an error message saying "Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable. (-5)".

I've tried a few troubleshooting steps, such as disabling my firewall and ensuring that my internet connection is stable, but the issue persists. Has anyone else experienced this issue with Forticlient? If so, were you able to resolve it?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Judy,

Please try the steps below,

1. On the FortiClient (Windows) workstation, go to Internet Explorer > Options > Advanced.
2. Change the TLS settings to match those settings on the FortiGate.
For example, if TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 are enabled on the FortiGate, enable them in Internet Explorer as well.

3. You can check the FortiGate TLS settings by referring the documentations below,
