Is this a conflict? WAN2 IP and VirtualIP.

Hi, Firstly I am not even sure if I am in the right topic. So please bear with me. Currently I have a WAN port assigned 10.60.100.9 this is the WAN2 port. Also I have a rule under Virtual IP that has the following configuration. Name : MSC External Interface: WAN2 Type : NAT External IP Address/Range : 10.60.100.9 Mapped IP Address/Range : 10.60.11.10 Would this in anyway cause a conflict? I have a host in the internal LAN with the following IP: 10.60.11.10 so the VirtualIP setting is valid for NATting. Hardware : Fortigate-200A 3.00,build0479,070309 p.s I am trying to attach a screen grab but its not letting me load it up generating the following error Microsoft VBScript runtime error ' 800a0046' Permission denied /forum/js/PGDUpload.asp, line 135 Using Mozilla Firefox also tried it with IE7. cheers

Basically what is happening is that the FGT is forwarding any requests to 10.60.100.9 that appear on the outside interface to 10.60.11.10 on the inside LAN. This is happening on whatever ports are defined in the Virtual IP configuration (any if 0/0) and the policy. By the way, that build of MR4 may prove problematic. If you are experienceing any strange/unexplained issues, it may be the firmware. Just an FYI.

(it' s an old post, but just in case...) I suppose your netmasks are 255.255.255.0 (both wan2 & internal). If " only" 255.255.0.0 poor old FGT should not know how to route. Rodeca
