Do you have access to the internet on the server when you use it directly without RDP?
there is no internet in the server
So, do you have a policy that will accept the server to access Internet?
Is the server and the client located on the same IP subnet?
there is no policy to allow server to access internet just Allow DNS.
Client and server in different vlans.
Aah, ok..
I think I misunderstood you.
So when you connect you client via RDP to your server, the local internet on you client stops working?
yes exactly.
I cannot see that has something to do with the Fortigate.
If you connect your client to the server via RDP and minimize the RDP window, you're still going to be allowed in the firewall policy, just like before.
Sounds like RDP/Microsoft does something thats not normal, I've not had this problem myself.
And you don't use any VPN connection when you connect to the server?
IF the default gateway points to the server during the RDP session THEN the client won't be able to surf the Net.
Check the client's routing table "route print" & post it.
Hello,
