Internal load balancing real servers

The virtual server can only be on external interface of fortigate or internal also. ?

Reason I am asking is because I am configuring a virtual server to Http load balance real servers on port 7101. Both virtual server and real servers(2)  are on same lan/interface. But when I hit virtual server IP I am not able to reach service on real server. I am trying to hit from one of the machine on same lan.

I am new to fortigate capabilities..I hope internal load balance should work?
