I have a very interesting problem that I have not been able to figure out yet. I've searched the internet and haven't found anything with this exact problem. I have a FortiWiFi 40F-3G4G that I upgraded all the way to 7.6.1 build3457 before I did any configuration on the device. I finally got the Sandbox working with FortiCloud, but I noticed that when I try to configure the antivirus policy, there are no entries listed in the GUI for Inspected Protocols. Since they aren't listed, it will not let me proceed to turn on or off any settings or even give it a name. Has anyone else seen this before?
Hi,
Can you share the snapshot of the error you are seeing on the policy and pinpoint the exact concern
Certainly.
Please check the AntiVirus scan is enable and any one of the protocol is enabled
I suppose I need to give you some more information. When I open the Antivirus Profile window, it pops up this box below.
It will not let me turn on any of the toggles except for "Include mobile malware protection"
If I try and add a name in the name box, I can type it in, but when I try to save it, I get: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'entries') in red box like the undefined one above. Even if I try to create a new profile, it looks exactly the same as the original post.
I have everything else working properly on this router, except for this. I'm stumped.
can you verify with different browser and clearing the cache
Also just to confirm if it is gui issue only try with cli
https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortigate/7.6.0/cli-reference/110338989/config-antivirus-profile
Thank you for the suggestions. I tried three different browsers and it was the same in all of them. I did notice in the CLI, it shows:
config antivirus profile
edit "default"
set comment "Scan files and block viruses."
config http
set av-scan block
end
config ftp
set av-scan block
end
config imap
set av-scan block
set executables virus
end
config pop3
set av-scan block
set executables virus
end
config smtp
set av-scan block
set executables virus
end
set outbreak-prevention-archive-scan disable
set external-blocklist-enable-all enable
next
end
I assume that means that the protocols are there, but there's something wrong with the GUI, maybe?
I created a new one and when I looked at it in the GUI, it looks the same as the default one.
Thanks,
Dan
I'm experiencing the same symptoms. Tried multiple browsers and private/incognito with the same results. Did a factory reset and tried again, still applies.
I second this.
Tried everything just as the OP and getting the same exact error.
This is the response i get when there is the "undefined" message box.

While on Asset Management portal I just noticed this:
Same exact issue on my new 40F. I can not edit the default A/V profile, and I can not create a new one. All the sliders are grayed out, and I get the red box undefined error. It's been over a month since this post was created and Fortinet still did not release a fix for this? That is ridiculous!
