Inquiry Regarding Firmware Versions for FortiGate 200G – 7.4 Upgrade Availability

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out to inquire about the availability of firmware versions for the FortiGate 200G model. Currently, I see that even newer devices such as the FortiGate 90G are running on firmware versions 7.4, but there are no firmware upgrades beyond 7.2.8 and 7.2.11 available for the 200G model.

Given the advancements in newer models, I would like to understand why the 200G model has not yet received the 7.4 upgrade. Additionally, I am eager to know when newer firmware versions will be available for the FortiGate 200G device.

Could you please provide any insights on this matter? Specifically, I am interested in knowing whether there are any plans to release firmware versions beyond 7.2.11 for the FortiGate 200G, and if so, what the expected timeline for such releases might be.

It's simply because 200G hardware is much newer than 90G. According to Google search, it says below:

• FortiGate 90G: Date First Available: August 11, 2023

• FortiGate 200G: Date First Available: October 9, 2024

1 year would make a big difference for the software to catch up the new hardware.

I have checked internally, and I've seen recent v7.4.x interim builds for 200G.

I would keep an eye out for the newer v7.4.x GA releases.

We also planning next week on moving from 800D to 200G

is there ETA for 7.4 ?

if not we will need to use forticonverter (that if it is support converting 800d 7.4 to 200g 7.2)

or is there a beta version for 7.4.7 for 200G that we could receive from TAC ?

The manufacturer mentioned that a new version might be released in the second week of May — I’m also waiting for it.

I opened ticket for TAC

the problem is that the 800D is on version 7.4 and the 200G is on 7.2, and when I move manually the IPSEC configuration to FGT200G , the 200G does not accept the psksecret.

gettning: node_check_object fail! for psksecret ENC ......

we have no forticonverter and actually I don't know if it support such this scenario

waiting now to TAC to response, either to release to us the 7.4 of 200G, ot to help us to convert the 7.4 psksecret to 7.2 psksecret
