Hello, I'm interested in the following type of information.
We have configured and set up IPsec remote access VPN on a FortiGate device. At this stage, it works without issues only on version 7.2.
When I tried to connect using FortiClient version 7.4, it got stuck and showed the message:
"timeout while responding IP address".
What could be the cause of this?

Yes, the same behavior for me too. I spent hours troubleshooting yesterday until I got the idea to try the 7.2 version.
This seems to be a bug in 7.4, at least when you create a new connection.
It is always a good idea to start with FortiClient Compatibility matrix - to see if any given FC version is supported on your FGT FortiOS version - https://fortinetweb.s3.amazonaws.com/docs.fortinet.com/v2/attachments/afec3249-ed3f-11ea-96b9-005056...
But in general, it is not recommended to use lates-and-greatest in the Fortinet world, as it may well be you hit some unknown yet bug in newest version of FC.
