Hi sir,
A simple question, after I execute a command "execute shutdown" from RJ console, the FortiGate will go into standby mode, and at this moment, the RJ console and all Ethernet ports are without function, how can I wake the FortiGate up remotely? Can the FortiGate be woken up only by AC off then on it, since it does not have a power button?
Thanks,
Jacky

Hi @jackylee0908 - Unfortunately, there's no built-in way to remotely wake a FortiGate after a complete shutdown using "execute shutdown."

Your FGT is not in standby, but in "halt". Only way is to power-cycle (unplug the power cord and replug it in).

So is there any way to put the FortiGate into standby mode? And how to wake it up from the standby mode?
Thanks.

I don't think such mode exists in a standalone setting. In Fortigates and some other Fortinet products, "standby" generally means a secondary (not active) unit in active-passive HA cluster.

Understood, thanks.
FYI, there is no wake on LAN sort of feature on the fortigate. Ideally, you would want to have a smart PDU system that is connected to the network to toggle power on and off.
