How to use SNMP to monitor Managed FortiSwitch 448

Hello,

I need help to configure managed FortiSwitch 448 to use SNMP to monitor.

FortiGate 1500D (Firmwarev 6.4.2 build1723 (GA))

FortiSwitch 448 (S448DF-v6.4.2-build425,200629 (GA))

I changed option System -> SNMP on FortiGate Web-GUI and added one SNMP v1/v2 community.

However, SNMP manager cannot connect to FortiSwitch via SNMP.

Please help.

Thanks

Did you enable SNMP Access on the interface trough which your Agent connects to the FGT?

You need 3 things : snmp config on fortiswitch, allow snmp on the fortiswitch internal interface, make sure the fortiswitch ip is routed.

snmp config on fortiswitch can be done in the fortigate cli in the "config switch-controller remote-log" section.

allow snmp on the fortiswitch can be done in the fortigate cli in the "config switch-controller security-policy local-access" section.

for routing you will be to connect to the fortiswitch cli and add routes and then make sure that subnet is routed if your snmp server is remote.

Fortigate : 80E, 80F, 100E, 200F, 300E : 6.4.6

FortiAnalyzer, ForticlientEMS

Fortigate : 80E, 80F, 100E, 200F, 300E : 6.4.6 FortiAnalyzer, ForticlientEMS
