How to upgrade WAN bandwidth

Hi,

We have a SD-WAN fabric with multiple FortiGate's 80F running v7.0.8.

On one of the branch site FortiGate we are planning to upgrade WAN bandwidth from 100 MB to 200 MB.

What changes are required from FortiGate side or this should be done only on SDWAN side?

Is there any best practices for this to ensure the upgrade process goes smoothly?

TIA. :)

Hello @martyyy ,

If you don't have any QoS policy in your sd-wan rules or you don't have any bandwidth limit in your configuration. You don't need to do anything.

After the bandwidth upgrade, sd-wan will start to use the new bandwidth limit.

Hello martyyy,

You need to make sure the speed/duplex on that wan port that you going to upgrade had auto negotiate/hard code to 1Gbps/full duplex. If not when the speed had upgraded to 200Mbps, the speed will cap at 100Mbps.

Hi Marty

My recommendation is to update to 7.0.15, because 7.0.8 has critical vulnerabilities and many known issues, and to keep an eye on the resources, since you may reach its limits if you don't optimize the policies.

Oh I thought Marty means 200MB, not 200Mb.
