Hello,
Is there a way to see in Fortigate how much bandwidth (Mbps)is consuming an internal user?
I recall before in fortiview it showed this but now (FortiOS 7.4) I can not see it. Only shows traffic in Bytes (MB).
What widget would it be if any...?
thank you.
Regards.
Hi @kamarale ,
You can still view live bandwidth (in Mbps) for any user or IP from the GUI. Open Dashboard → FortiView Sources (or Destinations / Applications), set the Period drop‑down to Now, then click the gear icon to reveal the hidden Bandwidth / Sent Rate / Rcv Rate columns and sort by Bandwidth. The real‑time “Now” view is the only one that displays rates in bits‑per‑second; historical periods (5 min, 1 h, 24 h, etc.) show totals in bytes instead, which is why you may have seen only MB values before.
For host‑level details, use the CLI: apply diag sys session filter src <ip> followed by diag sys session list to inspect that client’s active sessions. If you need longer‑term or aggregated statistics, you can assign a per‑IP traffic shaper in Policy & Objects, export flow data through NetFlow or SNMP, or generate usage reports in FortiAnalyzer.
