How to implement custom file block on FortiProxy?

Hi,

I want to block custom files (bin, ova, ovf) on FortiProxy. I couldn't find these files in the file filter field. How can I block them? Has anyone done this? I would appreciate your support.

Best Regards,

İsmail Ürek

Hi ismailurek2,

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong as I am far from an expert on FortiProxy, but I think this is possible with the Data Loss Prevention (DLP) feature.

These may be relevant: https://docs.fortinet.com/document/fortiproxy/7.4.3/administration-guide/969566/dlp-techniques

Use these with a new DLP pattern that matches the file extensions you want to block (e.g., .bin, .ova, .ovf).

Hi @Stephen_G ,

Thank you for your response. I was able to block bin, ovf, ova files with dlp before as you said.
