How to identify right Fortinet model for replacement?

Hi All,

Presently using Fortinet 80C v5.2.8,build727, device is mostly in high memory usage, above 70%, CPU average 30% this is with all logging disabled and basic AV scanning. We had a change in business model recently and internet usage picked up from 50 users to more than 250, with heavy uploads/downloads, Video Chats, HD youtube activities etc. that is when the device started slowing down.

We believe that a slightly better hardware config like 90E should be enough for our usage. 100D and 200D feels bit of an overkill.

Your thoughts please...

Thanks

Ananth.

I would look at the cost of the next 3 units vs. feature sets and resource levels.   What is your budget?

Ananth

Budget wise 90E is the most affordable, but unsure about if its the right size, 200D is over budget and maybe oversized. Not sure about 100D, we want to go for either a latest model or a higher end model within our budget.

Looks like we will settle for 90E.

Thanks

Ananth

https://www.fortinet.com/content/dam/fortinet/assets/data-sheets/Fortinet_Product_Matrix.pdf This is their product matrix.  90E to 100D are similar.  What features do you use the most on your current box?

Ananth

Web filtering and Application Control. traffic shaping, lots of policies also, not much the device cannot handle, no VPN.

Thanks for the product matrix, seems 90E should be sufficient for the present and near future requirements.

Thanks

Ananth
