I have a fortigate that was in my fabric from before I started with this company. The last admin registered this Fortigate with his personal email account and I am now trying to change it to the email address we use for all of our fortigates.
I have tried
config system fortiguard
set service-account-id <the new email address>
end
But this does not work in 7.0
I am not able to connect this Fortigate to my Fortimanager cloud instance, until I change this email address.

You would need to actually unset the service-account-id in that case, then go back to the activation screen to login. Here are the commands to do that:
------------------------
config system fortiguard
unset service-account-id
end
Unfortunately that didn't make a difference. I did try and just set the service account id, but that didn't work either.

The FortiGate serial number could still be registered under the last admin personal FortiCloud account. You can ask him to transfer it to your email.
