How to allow encrypted PDFs only in some cases
Hi, I have question related to filters and policies, I know that I can deny or allow emails with encrypted PDFs, but I need to do this:
Allow X account to always send encrypted PDFs to everyone, but if someone who received the PDF replies with the PDF attached then allow it too, but if someone sends in normal circumstances a encrypted PDF to X account then block it.
Is it possible to create a rule or something like this?: If X account sends something to Z account, then X account now knows Z account, and then if Z accounts sends/replies with a encrypted PDF to X account then allow the message, but if X account does not know Z account and Z account sends encrypted PDF to X account then block it.
Is it possible to do what I want to do?
Thank you and I hope I'm not bothering you.

Hello Franco,
To allow encrypted PDFs only in specific cases on FortiMail, you can configure content filtering rules.
- Access FortiMail Admin Console: Log in to your FortiMail web-based manager.
- Navigate to Content Profiles: Go to `Profile` -> `Content Monitor` -> `Content Profiles`.
- Edit or Create a Profile: Either edit an existing content profile or create a new one.
- Configure Content Filtering: Under the content profile, locate the section for file filtering. Add a rule to detect encrypted PDFs. You can use file type detection and specify conditions for encrypted PDFs.
- Apply Conditions: Set conditions under which encrypted PDFs are allowed. This could be based on sender, recipient, or other criteria. - Use the dictionary profile to specify exceptions or cases where encrypted PDFs are permitted.
- Save and Apply: Save the changes and apply the profile to the relevant email policies.
- Test the Configuration: Send test emails with encrypted PDFs to ensure the rules are working as expected.
