How fortigate web proxy works

Anybody can explain if fortigate firewall web proxy works.

Lets suppose there is one user inside the LAN network, if he wants to access internet services.

You can configure proxy on users browser and set FortiGate  with explicit web proxy enabled to handle the users access to internet, please see Cookbook | FortiGate / FortiOS 6.2.0 | Fortinet Documentation Library
