How do I turn OFF the AntiSPAM...

I enabled antispam to check it out earlier, and not realized it was the subject of a separate license. I have since unticked every antispam rule from each and every protection profile, and I keep seeing " FortiGuard - AntiSpam license is expired" events in the log... but in my email, every 10 minutes. Does anybody know how to shut the darn thing up? Is there any other place where you specify to use or not use the Antispam. Funny thing is, it never complained before I activated it by mistake. Thanks, Laurent

That sounds like a failed to contact the FortiGuard service. If you go to System > Maintenance > FortiGuard Centre and and expand the Web Filtering and AntiSpam Options section, are either/both of the first level check boxes selected? If so, de-select them. I think that will do the trick. Rick.

This does not remove the messages from the Event Log on my 800 (Fortigate-800 3.00-b0559(MR5)). We use all other services except Spam as we use a Barracuda appliance instead. We too " test drove" the Spam module when we first bought the 800. Any ideas on how to stop these message from filling the Event Log? Thanks in advance!

That may be a problem for Fortinet Support. The license expiring is done at Fortinet, so they may need to remove the expired license from your device' s list of licenses for the warning message to go away. That' s my two cents. I may be totally off on this one.

Thanks Bob for the suggestion. The Fortinet tech support I talked to said: " That problem was attributed to a bug that has since been fixed in MR5 Patch3. The correct behavior is to suppress those logs if the Anti-Spam service is disabled. Patch 3 is available on our support site." I tested the code and it works - finally! -Robin-
