How TO DISCARD spams on pop3 and IMAP

in the protection profile, spam filtering, the only choise for POP3 and IMAP is to tagg the spam email, how can i Discard them??

hi, it' s not available at FTG level, only " pass" or " tag" for POP3/IMAP maybe you could try to filter that at pop/imap client level defining appropiate action filter for those tagged messages.

this is just normal - otherwise the FGT had to issue a DELE command towards the POP3 Server and delete the message..... Because it' s already on the mailserver. If you just ignore it/discard it, it will stay there forever unless someone delete it. This is different for SMTP - there the Fortigate can send and SMTP-reject back to the sending mailserver which itself notifies the sender or delete the message after some time. 2 different protocols - 2 different scenarios. -R.
