Hello,
I recently upgraded the FAC to version 6.6.4 using TFTP. After booting, the admin password was supposed to be blank, but I received a message saying the password was incorrect. To resolve this issue, I accessed the device with the master account and performed a factory reset, which successfully fixed the problem. Due to time constraints, I wasn’t able to test with a lower version, but I’m curious if anyone else has experienced the same issue.
Has anyone else encountered a similar problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
Hey sindys,
not sure about this; the FortiAuthenticator will require to set a password on first login, CLI+GUI. You said you upgraded so I would assume a password had been set. Which version did you upgrade from?
Best regards,
Markus
Hi @sindys
According the release notes:
"Upgrading FortiAuthenticator firmware by interrupting the FortiAuthenticator boot process and installing a firmware image from a TFTP server erases the current FortiAuthenticator configuration and replaces it with factory default settings."
Special notices | FortiAuthenticator 6.6.4 | Fortinet Document Library
In this case i would also expect the management IP to be reset. Were you trying to connect using the defaults?
