Fortiswitches: stackable or not?

Could someone tell me if FortiSwitches are stackable or not?

I mean, I'd like to create an LACP with 1 port on first switch and 1 port on second switch. Could I do that or not (and in case what are the supported models)?

Thanks in advance

AFAIK - This is on the Roadmap for FortiOS 5.4.2  (?) and FortiSwitchOS 3.5.? ....

I guess only the 5xx and 1048 Switches will be able to do that ... Stacking via QSFP - But thats only a guess ;)

FortiSwitch is stackable when managed by the FortiGate.

5.4.1 changes how switches connect for FortiLink. Only one switch connects to the FortiGate as only one port on the FortiGate can be dedicated to FortiSwitch. That port can be a LAG, though the FortiSwitch currently does not allow a LAG on FortiLink ports. That lag then becomes the point for the far end of a switch stack to connect back to the FortiGate.

See the document Managed FortiSwitches Using FortiGate... be sure to get the 5.4.1 version.

Does someone know if there are some news regarding this?

I really need to know if I could approach datacenter with FortiSwitch but in order to do that, physical/real stacking is mandatory.

But with FG I could only achieve a software stack and not a physical one. Or am I wrong?

The switches are powerful and getting more so every day. They are still suffering when it comes to certain feature sets though. Fortinet is at least working on it.
