Fortiswitch port rate limiting

Hi,

I have a fortiswitch 224E managed by a Fortigate 100F.

The switch is used as internet facing switch.

I need to rate limit some port as there is more than one user using that internet service.

So I need to rate limit the port speed at 20mbs.

I do not know how to config this

Hello

A much better idea is to configure traffic shaping on FGT. The traffic will then be shaped not randomly but by app/service/IP/...etc.

The problem is that the traffic do not reach the Fortigate for the internet service because it does not passthrough it. The 2 other internet users have their own firewall. The switch only split internet service between 3 users. 1- my fortigate (60 Mbs), 2 CCTV network with is Firewall (20Mbs) and 3- IT corpo (20Mbs).

You may achieve this with QoS.

But be careful with it, my general rule is that I'd never drop the received packets from WAN, because the side effects can be very bad for your internet traffic.
