Fortinet VM Evaluation license activation - 7.2.1
I am trying to activate a Trial license for a 7.2.1 Fortigate VM - I have an active Fortinet account with FGT's under current contracts. When I try and activate the evaluation license I get the error below.
Gui error:
From the CLI I see this.
Requesting FortiCare Trial license, proxy:(null)
The unit has unrestricted access to the internet (DNS etc) here is the port config for the interface I am using
config system interface
edit "port3"
set vdom "root"
set mode dhcp
set allowaccess ping https ssh http fgfm speed-test
set type physical
set snmp-index 3
next
end

Looks like Fortigate is unable to communicate with the Fortiguard servers.
Follow this KB as a starting point in order to troubleshoot connections towards to the Fortiguard:

Hi, I found out that 1 forticloud account = 1 evaluation license only. So for evaluation license you can only use 1 forticloud account for 1 fortigate device only

Yes you are right. Only 1 evaluation license per account.
The same with FortiAnalyzer and FortiManager.

Hello,
If you are using a proxy in front of your Fortigate you can manually update from the cli specifying the proxy server address : execute vm-license-options proxy 172.x.x.x:3128

I had this same problem, but I use in EVE-NG to simulate fortigate, but I can´t going to internet and claim license free. Someone can help me?
