Fortimanager Trial in airgap environment

Is there a way to use Fortimanager trial in an airgap environment? The Entitlement Files not work because the Trial has no support.

Hello Ronny,

From reading our documentation one of the requirements for activating the FortiManager Trial license  is that the VM has Internet access to complete the licensing process.

Hi Ronny,

Did you already have a look at this document?:

Yes, I know this article. This also works great if you have an appliance with valid support. The problem with the trial version is that there is no support (it is only a trial). Without support, the Entitlement File is also empty and cannot be imported in the Fortimanager.Screenshot 2024-11-14 141718.png

Short Update: I was able to solve the problem by requesting a regular trial license from the responsible Fortinet sales partner. Since this has a test period of approx. 90 days, the entitlement file could also be generated and imported. I suspect that the “free” trial license is simply not designed for AirGapped environments, but generally requires an Internet connection for activation.
